Martha -- you would be so proud of Sweetie. Not only did she greet each and every one of my parents' guests at a recent party, she's been checking everyone out ever since class ended, and actually met a pair of beagles more shy than she is.

Sweetie just got out of the emergency vet hospital. She made it through the trauma of hospitalization just fine. She actually liked the vet and went up to him several times on her own. He says that she just needs more time to adjust and adapt, and he didn't think her anxiety was that bad. In other words, thanks to you, Sweetie is making leaps and bounds. You helped her find her confidence, and that's really made a striking difference. She's much more affectionate and really happy, even with not feeling well..

Are you settled on a new location yet for classes? I think Sweetie could really benefit from continuing. Let us know when you do. And Martha, thanks again for everything. People told me that Sweetie wasn't going to change, but I believed in her. You obviously know your dogs, and I think you insured that Sweetie finds her inner puppy. -- Sara M. Barton

I am signing Cody up for another course. He has calmed down a lot.  He is like another dog when I come home from work, calm.  He comes out of the crate tail wagging& does a long stretch.
You have made a  big difference for us.
Thanks

I just wanted to thank you so much for all the extra work you did with Roxy and me. The classes we took with you were the best classes I have ever taken and they really do help build the bond between dog and owner. I won't be going back to Glastonbury without you there, but I will be looking for something else closer to home. Wish you the best; Roxy sends a big slobbery kiss and of course some loud barking!  You are a great trainer.

They offer special training for little dogs  Merchant Ratings

I was reluctant to take my dog to training classes because she is so small and I thought she would be overwhelmed. I was pleased to hear that Candlewick Kennels has classes especially for small dogs. Since the training classes my little dog has become much more out going and comfortable in strange places. I am very pleased with the training classes at Candlewick kennels.

Unique and effective training program  Merchant Ratings

I had been to several trainers trying to improve my dogs behavior. They all promised they could help me. After two and a half years my dogs behavior was regressing, I was very frustrated. Several friends had given me Martha Baileys name. I was not going to give up on my dog reluctantly I tried trainer #3. Wow ! what a different approach she has. The training is based on successful exercises. Day one we weren't working on my worst problems but my dog was learning and we were connecting and working well together. In no time at all I began to understand my dog and find the tools I needed to work with his behavior issues. He is a joy to my family, friends and neighbors. Even my vet has commented on his improved behavior. He is now a happy dog.

I took classes with Martha at the North Haven Recreation Center. I was so pleased that she had a special training class for small dogs. I had brought my poodle to classes at another place, but my dog was very scared and we couldn't continue. Martha's classes helped my little dog gain confidence and she also learned variety of useful commands like leave-it and to wait before going through a door. I definitely recommend her classes.

We recently attended your training session with Tucker the Black Lab. Tucker has done excellent with all of the basics that were taught. I personally found your training methods right to the point, "all the dog has to do is breath" as you said, everything else was left up to the handler. The pups found it easy to follow the commands. I was very impressed.

Best Dog Trainer: If you are looking for a trainer that is down to earth and will help you enjoy training your pet to be enjoyable this is where you want to be. Innovative, fun, and sensitive and your dog will thank you!

My Schipperke, Razzmatazz, and I thoroughly enjoy the Flex-training class.  It is a fun way to improve the skills and confidence of both dog and handler.  Martha is an excellent trainer – knowledgeable, patient and has a wonderful sense of humor!  She makes it easy for the dogs to succeed at everything they are asked to do.

This is the best place to train your pets!  Martha is a true animal behaviorist, not just a dog trainer.  She creates an atmosphere that fosters the bonding of owner and dog by combining obedience with a variety of activities making the experience enjoyable for everyone.

Martha Bailey has helped me train several dogs over several years and I have not only learned a great deal from her, but have enjoyed the classes as well.  Her knowledge of training practices and her patience with dogs and their owners make her classes invaluable.  Since it is really the owners who must be trained, Martha presents her curriculum in a clear and humorous way, maintaining the attention of the student owners along with their pets.  Most important, her compassion and concern for animals is always obvious.  I could not recommend her more highly.
