Advanced Behavior Course
Canine Continuing Education
 

Review of basic commands:
walk nicely on a leash, “sit”, “down”, “stand”, “stay” and “come” with an emphasis on your dog’s listening skills.  These commands are the tools needed to address many common behavioral problems.

 

Begin off leash work:  A gradual introduction to teaching your dog to respond to commands off leash work



Introduction to multiple commands Giving several obedience commands in a sequence will help your dog learn to  respond quicker and more reliably

 

Review:  leave-it & wait commands


Dog Association: Techniques to help your dog pay attention and behave better around other dogs.


Teach your dog to respond to commands given from a distance, using a long line

 

Trick training:

·          Helps your dog to want to listen
 

·          Allows dogs to feel good about their accomplishments
 

·          Enhances the communication bond between you & your dog
 

·          Provides physical therapy for when your dog is older



We will take a few minutes in each class to demonstrate
how to teach your dog a variety of tricks.

Directional Commands:

The main focus of this course will be on a variety directional  commands.

Directional commands reduce canine stress and enhance your bond with your dog.

The use of body language & signals improves your dogs ability to pay attention and respond to your commands

General Information

This is the appropriate course for your dog if he or she
has completed a Behavioral Obedience Course.

Your dog does not have to be “advanced”
to benefit from this course. Exercises are
adjusted to accommodate the abilities of each dog in the class.

Dogs really enjoy the special
one-on-one attention they get from you when they come to class.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Course 
(open to all dogs that have completed a basic level obedience course)

 
5 week course $115.00

two utility bills, voter registration card or tax bill for real property )

Dogs who pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test receive a certificate issued by the AKC.

This course will help you teach your dog the behaviors needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test. 


Participants may opt to take the CGC test at the end of the course. (10.00 fee). 


This course is open to both purebred & mixed breed dogs.
